The Time is NOW
This week’s blog is from Kara Ford, mover, shaker, writer, PR maker and big friend of The Creative Coast. Kara’s also a Geekend Fan! Read on as Kara muses on the great things coming to Savannah in October when Geekend blasts off for another fantastic happening. FYI – The Creative Coast’s blogspot is Savannah’s sounding board for local thinkers, innovators, wanderers and wonders. Guest bloggers share their thoughts, opinions and creative noodling from all over the map…
With the sweltering heat of August upon us here in Savannah, it can be hard to think of anything other than ways to keep cool and where’s the closest building with AC! However, the time is now to start thinking about your business goals and objectives, not only for the year’s last two quarters, but more importantly for 2017 and beyond.
Take a look at your calendar and cancel any plans you may of had for October 14 and 15. There is no better way to get inspired when setting your future business goals than to surround yourself with the nation’s brightest and forward-thinking entrepreneurs. Now in its third year, The Creative Coast’s annual Geekend conference is lining up to be one of its best yet!
If you’ve never been before, Geekend brings together a unique mix of entrepreneurs, innovators, designers, coders, and technology mavericks to deliver content-driven presentations, interactive workshops, thought-provoking panels, and undiluted information from top regional, national and international experts.
We all learn best when we learn from others who’ve already taken the road less traveled and done it successfully. Geekend is truly a meeting of the minds and allows you the chance to exchange ideas with others who may not be doing what you do, but who can certainly add value to your business. I believe great innovation takes place when you’re challenged by your peers and inspired to think outside the box.
Networking is another perk to the annual entrepreneurship and technology conference. Geekend offers attendees the perfect opportunity to trade stories (and perhaps share a cocktail or two after hours) with people who can help grow your business and ultimately master trends that may impact your bottom line. Don’t miss your chance to interact with a diverse set of professionals, future collaborators and leaders on the forefront of the tech and creative industries — all with different worldviews and visions — to inspire your future goals.
As I mentioned, this year’s lineup is shaping up to be one of its best yet. While the official schedule has not yet been announced, a little birdy gave me a sneak peek and I’m predicting some of the favorite sessions are sure to be the topics covering advice on how to attract investors, building a company MVP, corporate innovation, how to do more with less, perfecting your pitch, and 3D modeling. Of course, that’s only a taste. Be on the lookout for the official announcement and in the meantime, get your tickets, folks! You don’t want to miss out!
