The Creative Coast announces the establishment of the Creators’ Foundry
Official Press Release SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Creative Coast announced today the establishment of the Creators’Foundry to be located at 415 W. Boundary St. The 16,000 square foot facility will house The Creative Coast offices and serve as a vibrant innovative epicenter of entrepreneurial activity. The space will offer office rental space, incubator space, co-working space and an auditorium for lectures, festivals, workshops and events. The Savannah Economic Development Authority has committed to being a partner in the Creators’ Foundry, expected to open in Fall 2014. “This is the next logical step for The Creative Coast,” said Bea Wray, Executive Director of The Creative Coast. “For the last 10 years The Creative Coast along with the Savannah Economic Development Authority and other partners have worked to build what is now a thriving entrepreneurial community in Savannah. That community has been developed through the hosting of events like Fast Pitch, Geekend, TEDxCreativeCoast and Startup Lounge and a community has been fostered online, through social media, and in one-on-one meetings in coffee shops all over Savannah.” The Savannah Economic Development Authority is one of the original founders of The Creative Coast and has continued to invest in the organization every year since inception. The support of the Creators’ Foundry will be an additional short-term investment. “This partnership to launch the Creators’ Foundry will be another piece of the pie to make Savannah the next ideal destination for high growth creative and innovative companies. It has been a long time in the making to have one place where all the pieces come together,” said Trip Tollison, President and CEO of the Savannah Economic Development Authority. Wray added that she is grateful for SEDA’s partnership. “This is a game changer for Savannah which is ripe for take off. With decreasing costs of cloud computing, and increasing availability to coding capabilities, Savannah’s creative community is just as qualified as any other city to become a hub for high growth companies. The Creators’ Foundry gives entrepreneurs physical hub for the exchange of ideas and expertise and support for launch and growth.” Jennifer Bonnett, Community Catalyst at Advanced Technology Development Center, a 33 year old technology incubator affiliated with Georgia Tech said, “We are excited to be located where Savannah entrepreneurs focused on high-growth potential businesses will be collaborating and launching their businesses. That’s our sweet spot.” Office space, co-working, incubator space as well as event space will be available beginning in Fall 2014. Information and applications can be found at creatorsfoundry.com.
