Savannah State University to Offer New Data Analytics Degree Program

The University System of Georgia (USG) has approved Savannah State University (SSU) to offer a new, high-demand degree in Data Analytics beginning this fall. The Data Analytics degree program is a joint effort between three of SSU’s colleges: College of Business Administration, College of Sciences and Technology and College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, and draws on critical competencies from each area of study.

Savannah State University Obtains $830,000 for New Computer Science Degree Track

Savannah State University has been awarded more than $830,000 from the U.S. Department of Education to offer a new modeling and simulation program (MSP) option within the Computer Science Technology degree program. Three Undergraduates Win Seed Money at Savannah State University’s Tiger’s Den Business Pitch Competition

On Monday, April 4th, a select group of Savannah State University (SSU) undergraduate students competed in the Tiger’s Den Business Pitch Competition at the Mary C. Torian Auditorium within the Howard Jordan Building. The six entrepreneurs pitched their business plans to a panel of judges with the ultimate goal of winning a total of $4,500 in seed money from SSU’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE).

Savannah State University awarded $900,000 grant to increase entrepreneurship education

Savannah State University has been awarded a $900,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) to operate a Minority Colleges and Universities pilot project in Savannah. The goal of the project is to lay the foundation for future generations of entrepreneurial leaders and innovators to help strengthen U.S. global competitiveness, job creation, and the overall U.S. economy.
