Georgia Tech CEISMC Savannah Announces Scholarship Program for On-campus Summer Programs

This summer the Georgia Tech Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC) Savannah campus is offering scholarships for all of their on-campus summer programs. The Georgia Department of Education has funded the CEISMC Student Programs through the Building Opportunities in Out-of-School Time (BOOST) grant program. CEISMC will be using the funds to provide scholarships, ultimately to expand access to serve more youth, reduce barriers to participation and increase programmatic quality.

Georgia Southern University Awards Three High School Teams at the Engineering Design Challenge

On Saturday, April 23rd, the Mechanical Engineering Department on the Armstrong Campus of Georgia Southern University (GSU) hosted the Engineering Design Challenge (EDC) in-person for the first time in three years. Seven teams of Georgia high school students competed in EDC 2022: Eagle-3D, which required each team to work with a provided 3-D printer in the months leading up to the event and to present their final work to a live audience.

Girls Engineer It Day to Take Place January 15th

The Savannah Coastal Empire Society of Women Engineers will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Girls Engineer It Day this upcoming January. Girls Engineer It Day, a STEM event for future engineers and scientists, is for elementary and middle school youth so that they can better understand different types of engineering, what they are, how to apply them through hands-on activities, and what resources are out there locally for them to utilize to keep the knowledge and expand it.
