Savannah Morning News Creative Coast column: In the new normal, is the office dead?

I have always worked in an office, even for my part-time summer jobs during high school and college. I tried retail once; it wasn’t for me. I worked at a small clothing store and got bored folding racks and stacks of clothes when the store had no customers.
During my career, I’ve worked for small businesses and major corporations. I’ve seen the office evolve from cube farms to open work spaces. I’ve worked with and for companies where executives got the “corner office” and others where the CEO was in a cube, the same as everyone else. I find office space, organizational hierarchy and how both impact company culture fascinating.
