What is Santa's Pantry?
- 4 Elementary schools have a poverty rate that is greater than 95%
- 10 schools have a poverty rate that is greater than 90%
- 44 schools have a poverty rate that is greater than 50%
In collaboration with local organizations and business partners, Santa's Pantry provides non-perishable food items to as many vulnerable students in Chatham County public schools as possible over the winter break.
In a typical year, Santa’s Pantry volunteers collect, sort, inventory, bag, and deliver collected food from the community, along with food purchased from grocery stores using monetary donations. The need for social distancing requires the program to pivot. This year, Santa's Pantry will distribute grocery store gift cards so families can buy what they need. School counselors and principals will be the distribution point to protect the students’ identities and to ensure the students most in need are served.
The goal this year is to raise $20,000. Santa's Pantry partners with TecSAV, so their message is amplified and donations are tax-deductible.

Meet the 2020 Santa's Pantry Ambassadors
In the face of uncertainty and challenges, Santa's Pantry has stepped up their game with creative solutions to continue their work this holiday season. In an effort to keep everyone involved safe amidst COVID-19, Santa' Pantry is raising more money to distribute grocery gift cards to families rather than collecting and distributing food items. This year they partnered up with local Ambassadors to help them meet a collective goal of $20,000.
Below are six Santa's Pantry Ambassadors who kindly stepped up to support the cause this year. You can donate through one of the Santa's Pantry Ambassadors through November 20th.
