Job Description: As a Geospatial System Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the organization’s Geographic Information System infrastructure. You will ensure the smooth operation of GIS software, databases, servers, and associated technologies to facilitate efficient data management, analysis, and visualization of geospatial information.


  1. System Design and Implementation:
    -Design, configure, and deploy GIS software applications, databases, and servers.
    -Develop and implement system architecture to meet the organization’s spatial data management needs.
    -Integrate GIS systems with other enterprise applications and databases.
    -Work with Latapult development team to integrate geospatial technology and data into Latapult software.
  2. System Maintenance and Support:
    -Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates, patches, and backups, to ensure system reliability and security.
    -Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to GIS software, databases, and infrastructure.
    -Provide technical support and assistance to GIS Analysts and Customer Success team experiencing GIS-related problems.
  3. Data Management:
    -Manage geospatial data acquisition, storage, processing, and distribution.
    -Ensure data integrity, quality, and consistency within the GIS database.
    -Develop and enforce data standards, policies, and procedures.
  4. Spatial Analysis and Visualization:
    -Assist with technology for conducting spatial analysis and generating maps, reports, and visualizations using GIS software.
    -Customize GIS applications, tools and software features to meet specific analytical requirements.
  5. Documentation and Training:
    -Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
    -Stay updated on emerging GIS technologies, trends, and best practices.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geographic Information Science, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in GIS administration, including system design, implementation, and support.
  • Proficiency in GIS software platforms such as ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar.
    Strong understanding of spatial databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS) and related technologies.
  • Experience with GIS web services (e.g., ArcGIS Server, GeoServer) and APIs.
    Knowledge of programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL) for automation and customization.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in GIS administration or related field.
  • Experience with cloud-based GIS solutions.
  • Familiarity with remote sensing technologies and image processing.
  • Knowledge of spatial analysis techniques and statistical methods.
  • Experience working in industries such as real estate, land development consulting, urban planning, environmental science, or utilities.
  • Experience with Software Development teams.
