Job Description:  Latapult is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated GIS Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing geospatial data, conducting spatial analysis, and producing high-quality visualizations to support our software.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GIS technologies, data management, and spatial analysis techniques.

Responsibilities:

-Assist Latapult team in performing spatial analysis and creating mapping visuals.
-Support data management tasks, including data entry, validation, and maintenance of geospatial databases.
-Conduct and manage basic spatial analysis tasks such as buffering, overlay analysis, and map layer production.
-Manage custom GIS tools and scripts to automate workflows and improve efficiency.
-Prepare visualizations to communicate spatial analysis findings to the Latapult team.
-Collaborate with colleagues to understand geospatial product requirements and contribute to product deliverables.
-Stay updated on GIS trends and technologies through training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or a related field.
-Experience with GIS software (e.g. coursework, internships, or projects).
-Proficiency in GIS software, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and QGIS.
-Basic understanding of spatial analysis techniques and cartographic principles.
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
-Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience with web-based GIS applications (e.g., ArcGIS Online, Leaflet).
-Familiarity with basic scripting or programming languages (e.g. Python) for geospatial analysis and automation.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Knowledge of remote sensing techniques and image processing.
-Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex GIS concepts to non-technical audiences.
-Experience with database management (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and data manipulation.
-Enthusiastic and passionate about learning and leveraging geospatial technology to solve real-world challenges in a dynamic work environment.
