VIRTUAL – Lunchtime Topic with Radford Harrell: Sales as Market Research
July 27 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDTFREE
Starting and building an idea into a business is far from formulaic. Long before “entrepreneur” became a common word, founding a business required an idea, passion and a plan, just like today. Passion is another word for energy, risk tolerance, and work ethic. Then, like now, founders had to rely on their gut, or intuition, to help them navigate the early-stage pitfalls that could sink their business. Intuition is best tested by a real customer and in this talk, Radford is going to discuss the danger of relying on a formula, how to reframe your sales and marketing decisions as an early stage company, and finally how to work through Customer Discovery (of the Lean Startup Methodology) with a fresh approach.
Harrell is a serial entrepreneur. His most recent venture was as CEO of TalentSoup.com. After serving in the U.S. Navy, Harrell earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial design from Auburn University, where he was a Dean’s List graduate. He relocated to Savannah from Atlanta in 2009, and has been active with the Creative Coast in Savannah ever since. Today he serves as the Savannah Startup Catalyst for the Advanced Technology Development’s Center. He also hosts the ATDC Lean Startup Circle the last Monday of every month at 4:30p in collaboration with the Creative Coast.
