Creative Coast Announces Winter/Spring Girls Code Games Sessions

The Creative Coast has announced Winter/Spring 2023 sessions for Girls Code, a youth coding programming for girls in 5th to 8th grade attending Savannah Chatham County Public Schools. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn how to code video games using MIT Scratch during the upcoming season’s Girls Code Games. Sessions will run independently of one another and take place from 11AM – 1:30PM at a different Live Oak Public Library branch each week on the following Saturdays: March 4th, March 11th, April 1st, and April 8th.

Club Hous Works Announced as Final GRIT Conference Keynote Session

On Saturday, January 28th, Zach Dennis of Savannah Morning News will host a fireside chat with Pote Baby, Bryan J Noel, and Donny Slater of Club Hous Works for the final GRIT Conference keynote session. The fireside chat is titled Gettin’ On: The Intersection of Music, Media, and Tech and is one of over fifteen sessions to take place at the conference. GRIT is The Creative Coast’s business, technology, and art conference happening on January 26-28, 2023 at the Savannah Cultural Arts Center.

Girls Code Games Holiday Camp Wraps with Funding from Howmet Aerospace Foundation

The Creative Coast closed 2022 with its final program of the year: the Girls Code Games Holiday Camp. The educational camp took place from December 19th to 22nd and provided a free opportunity for over twenty 5th to 8th-grade girls to learn how to code video games using MIT Scratch. The camp wrapped with a party showcasing the campers’ final game creations and a funding announcement from the Howmet Aerospace Foundation.

Creative Coast Announces 2022 Girls Code Games Holiday Camp Happening Dec. 19th-22nd

Girls Code, a youth coding program for girls in 5th to 8th grade at Savannah Chatham County Public Schools, has announced its 2022 Girls Code Games Holiday Camp taking place from December 19th through December 22nd! The camp is hosted by The Creative Coast at its location on 2 E. Bryan Street, #100A in downtown Savannah and will take place from 10am-3pm each day.

Georgia Southern University named recipient of Economic Development Administration ‘Build to Scale’ Grant

The United States Economic Development Administration (EDA) has named Georgia Southern University as one of 51 nationwide grant recipients of the 2022 Build to Scale program, which means the University will receive $600,000 in grant funding along with $600,000 in local match funds. The goal is to accelerate technology entrepreneurship by increasing inclusive access to entrepreneurial support and startup capital.
