FastPitch returned this year at Service Brewing in Savannah for an afternoon of business pitches, prize money, and networking opportunities. The business pitch competition, now in its tenth year, is run by The Creative Coast and features graduates of The Creative Coast’s Idea Accelerator Bootcamp and students that participated in startup pitch events at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and Savannah State University (SSU).

Georgia Southern University Awards Three High School Teams at the Engineering Design Challenge

On Saturday, April 23rd, the Mechanical Engineering Department on the Armstrong Campus of Georgia Southern University (GSU) hosted the Engineering Design Challenge (EDC) in-person for the first time in three years. Seven teams of Georgia high school students competed in EDC 2022: Eagle-3D, which required each team to work with a provided 3-D printer in the months leading up to the event and to present their final work to a live audience.

Georgia Grown Innovation Center Brings Entrepreneurial Opportunity to Metter and Beyond

This week, we highlight the Georgia Grown Innovation Center (GGIC), an agricultural-focused business incubator in Metter, GA that has brought growth, tourism, and prosperity to the region. Three Undergraduates Win Seed Money at Savannah State University’s Tiger’s Den Business Pitch Competition

On Monday, April 4th, a select group of Savannah State University (SSU) undergraduate students competed in the Tiger’s Den Business Pitch Competition at the Mary C. Torian Auditorium within the Howard Jordan Building. The six entrepreneurs pitched their business plans to a panel of judges with the ultimate goal of winning a total of $4,500 in seed money from SSU’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE).
