50 Days to Geekend
This week’s blog is from Jennifer Bonnett (Jen to her friends!), general manager of ATDC (Advanced Technology Development Center) at Georgia Tech and the real deal when it comes to tech stuff. We’re proud to call Jen a friend of The Creative Coast and a great resource for Georgia’s tech community! Read on as Jen puts the spotlight on Geekend and shares her excitement for this wildly popular event. FYI – The Creative Coast’s blogspot is Savannah’s sounding board for local thinkers, innovators, wanderers and wonders. Guest bloggers share their thoughts, opinions and creative noodling from all over the map…
I have traveled the world to speak at and attend some of the most notable conferences. I live and spend my days in Atlanta’s Tech Square, the very epicenter of all things technology in the South. Yet each fall I head “home” for a long weekend and one of my favorite conferences: Geekend in Savannah. There is no other conference quite like Geekend. There is none that brings together quite the same quirky group of hackers, hustlers, designers, and makers for interesting panels, provocative keynotes, and hands-on workshops and activities. It brings together some of the finest minds with dissimilar skills, yet shared interests for amazing conversations. Alliances are formed, companies created, magic happens. I am happy to play an active role in bringing Geekend 2016 to Savannah. This year’s conference is Oct. 13-15. ATDC is a proud co-presenting sponsor with The Creative Coast. Over the next week or so, we will share the full lineup of events, but in the meantime, here’s a taste of what’s in store:- Design Thinking
