SAVANNAH Georgia (May 10, 2012) – Only months into Season 2 of “Eat It and Like It”, the Savannah-based foodie show gets an EMMY® nomination. The 2012 Southeast Regional EMMY® Awards nomination is for “Eat It and Like It, Episode 4 – Coffee” -- Jesse Blanco, Senea Crystal, Joshua Jasso, Nathaniel Nauert, Two00One Odyssey Productions. The category is “Outstanding Achievement: Television Programming Excellence, Category: 32, Informational/Instructional.”
On-air personality Jesse Blanco and managing partner Senea Crystal express disbelief mixed with joy. "This is a tremendous accomplishment by our Team. I mean, this show hasn't even been on the air for eight months. I couldn't be more proud of them," says Jesse Blanco.
Jesse adds, "We juggle day jobs, families, and other responsibilities outside of all of that to bring the people of Southeast Georgia and South Carolina this show every week. Stuff like this makes it all worth it. If we win, I may put that statuette on the pillow next to me every night for a month."
Regarding behind the scenes work, Senea adds, "We've had nothing but tremendous support from our sponsors going back 14 months. This community has responded to what we are doing and we appreciate all of them."
The 2012 Southeast Regional EMMY® Awards, presented by The Southeast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, will recognize the best of the region’s 2011 television production in Atlanta, Georgia. Jasmine Guy will host the 2012 Southeast Emmy® Awards GALA on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Grand Hyatt Buckhead, Atlanta.
If you think you’ve heard the name Jesse Blanco but cannot place it among food celebrities, Jesse is a favorite household name in the Savannah market as the news anchor at WTGS-TV FOX News at 10:00 p.m. He is infamous for pro bono guest appearances to assist non-profit community projects.
