The Department of History at Georgia Southern University is pleased to welcome Dr. Gerhard Weinberg, Emeritus Professor of History at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, to deliver a public lecture, “Pope Pius XIII in the Second War World War.” The lecture will take place in the IT Building Auditorium on Monday, Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Weinberg is the foremost historian of Nazi Germany and World War II and is author of numerous publications, including his seminal history of World War II, A World at Arms (1994).
The lecture is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by the Campus Life Enrichment Committee, the Department of History, and the Campus Outreach Lecture Program of the US Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies, supported by the generosity of Jack and Goldie Wolfe Miller.
