Jamie Wolf: Director of Entrepreneurial Development & Programming

Fitz HaileJamie graduated Summa Cum Laude from North Carolina State University with a Bachelors’ in Zoology, and she holds a Masters in Business from Arizona State University. She is the recipient of numerous academic awards and scholarships. Over the years she has worked for the National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences and driven numbers of clinical research projects. More recently she was the Coordinator of Institutional Funding for the largest health system in the state of Hawaii, fostering research in the medical and business communities. While in Hawaii, she was an active member of the Pediatric Obesity Task Force.

Just prior to arriving in Savannah she worked in an investment climate with entrepreneurial and public-private ventures, did project management, SBIR and STTR grant writing, business development and capital raising, budget preparation, and presentations to C-level management across the country and abroad. As co-founder of a start-up company in the medical device and disease management space, she assisted with the creation of the initial concept, business plan and strategy, marketing rollout through series A and B seed funding, and meetings with potential investment partners. As CSO of the company, she assisted with taking a brand new product through successful FDA clearance with a team of 5 people in 14 months with less than $1 million.

In 2006 Jamie took on the leadership role for CBETA, a 501©(6) all-volunteer, membership-based organization. As Managing Director, she assisted the volunteers of the Coastal Business, Education, and Technology Alliance to grow its membership, support technology-focused excellence in educational initiatives, and to nourish the business and research infrastructures to promote the economic future and growth of sustainable, high wage jobs in Savannah and the Coastal Region. Action items included fostering support for a High Tech High School, developing a regional CONNECT program based on the highly successful program coming out of San Diego, collaborating with local groups such as ASAP, and working with the area’s research institutions to grow and develop community research and commercialization projects.

Jamie now resides at SEDA and joins the TCCa team in creative economic development endeavors to start, grow, and attract growth-oriented, higher wage business in Savannah and the Coastal Region.
